Culinary Delights aboard the Carnival Triumph

Ever since I started blogging this is the first time I have been guilty of neglecting my dear blog for so long but I think I can  pardon myself for this since I have been away from home for more than two weeks, enjoying a western Caribbean cruise and a brief  stay in Houston with my family. After two weeks of sun, sand and sea it’s back to snowy Mississauga.

We had set set sail from Galveston, TX and stepped ashore on Progreso and Cozumel over a 5 day period . The fact that there were fifteen of us, including my mother in law, sis in law, my 3 brothers in law and their families, made it an even more enjoyable experience. On a cruise one of the main highlights is the amazing variety of food available round the clock, so I thought of sharing some visual treats with all of you.

The kids had a ball with 24 hour pizzas, burgers , ice creams and beverages . For the more adventurous diners, the main dining room menu included options like burgundy snails, frog legs and alligator fritters. The lavish food, refreshing breeze, breathtaking sunsets, spectacular beaches all made our trip a memorable one.

A few lines by John Masefield cross my mind ………”I must go down to the sea again, to the lonely sea and the sky……………………”.  I hope you too enjoyed the visual treats. Now, it’s time for me to get back into the kitchen but before that I want to thank my blogger friend Suchi of Kitchen Karma for giving me the Liebster Blog award.

Here’s a bit of info about this award which I have copied from Suchi’s blog:

“Leibster” means dearest in German and as with any award, there is bit of a ceremony involved. These are the rules if you accept the award:

  • Pick your five favorite blogs with less than 200 followers who deserve to be noticed and leave a comment on their blog to let them know they have received the award.
  • Hope that the five blogs chosen will keep spreading the love and pass it on to five more blogs.
I would like to pass on this award to following blogger friends:

Mukta of Bake-a-mania

  1. Wow with the look of the photos I am not surprised it took a while to post – what an amazing ship and the food. I bet you did not want to come home!
